A tragic accident involving three vehicles has left four people dead, including a-two-year-old-month baby. Eyewitnesses say that at around 7pm, last evening, a bus traveling from Kampala to Arua lost its front tyre near Kafu Bridge and collided with a Fuso truck carrying maize and a commuter taxi. The truck's driver, two adults, and one baby all died on the spot. Several other individuals sustained serious injuries and were rushed to nearby health facilities in Nakasongola, Masindi, and Kiryandongo for treatment.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate, identified the deceased as Mikel Turyamureeba and the injured are; Saturina Katusiime,20, Gad Nabataki, 43, Alice Biira, 43, Rose Komugabe, 49, Prudence Kyarisima, 27, Precious Ayebazibwe, 11, and a male juvenile only identified as Turyamutunga.
The Kabale Traffic Police commander, ASP Wilson Mucunguzi confirmed the tragedy and taken the bodies to Kabale Regional Hospital for post-mortem.
