Temple Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
TEMPLE, Texas — One person is dead and two people are injured following an accident in the 19200 block of SE HK Dodgen Loop on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Temple Police Department, a driver hit another car while attempting to merge onto the SE Loop. A third vehicle, unable to stop, hit the back of the second car.
One person, who suffered minor injuries and was in the third vehicle, was treated quickly, according to Temple PD.
Three people - all of whom were in the cars that originally crashed - were reportedly taken to the hospital.
Police state that one individual experiencing severe injuries died at the hospital.
Two people, who were in the second car, reportedly had non-life-threatening injuries and are currently undergoing medical evaluation.
Law enforcement is investigating the incident.
