Dale County Coroner John Cawley identified the victim as 27-year-old Maia M. Sterns of Madison, Alabama.
Coroner Cawley tells WDHN Sterns was driving on Highway 231 when her car hydroplaned, went across the median, and hit another car.
She was pronounced dead on the scene.
All Dale County roads, bridges deemed impassable
The driver of the second vehicle received minor injuries.
The crash occurred on Highway 231, near the intersection of Enterprise Road, at around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The Dale County EMA has declared that all roads and bridges across the county have been deemed impassable.
