Two in hospital after crash on B6282 near Toft Hil


 

Two people are in hospital after a crash on a County Durham road this morning.

It happened on the B6282 at Toft Hill, near Bishop Auckland, shortly before 11.30am on Wednesday (February 19) and the road has been closed since, with police warning it will be shut for “several hours”.

 

Paramedics rushed to the scene alongside air ambulance crews, and two people were taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Their injuries or condition are not yet known.


 A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call for a road traffic incident today at 11.15am on the B6282 near Toft Hill in Bishop Auckland, Durham.

“We dispatched two ambulance crews, one rapid response paramedic, one duty officer, one Hazardous Area Response Team crew, and were supported by our colleagues at Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS)

“Two patients were taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for further treatment.”
