At 7:07 this morning, the Philipsburg Fire Department was dispatched to a Vehicle Accident with Unknown Injuries on the 2000 Blk Black Moshannon Rd (State Route 504) in Rush Township. Initial dispatch advised of a school bus overturned with no children on board. Chief 57 arrived finding a single vehicle crash, with the bus on its side, off the roadway, after striking several trees. It was confirmed there were no children onboard and no other vehicles involved.
The bus driver was turned over to Moshannon Valley EMS for evaluation and subsequent transport to the hospital for minor injuries while the crew from Rescue 57 checked for any hazards while Fire Police set up to run one lane of traffic. Once all hazards were mitigated, and the roadway cleared of debris, the fire department was placed available turning traffic control duties over to PennDOT. PSP Rockview is investigating the cause of the crash.
Use caution traveling on SR 504 just East of the Philipsburg Elementary School this morning as crews work to remove the bus.
